Non magnetic cable assemblies from the Hydro Group are to be found in operation in the worlds sub sea multi influence and acoustic seabed range systems with a reliability that our competition has not been able to match.

The demanding task of connecting critical outboard systems on submarines and bringing this data back through the hull in electrical, coaxial and optical signal form, all whilst maintaining the integrity of the submarine pressure hull, is a skill that we have developed over many years.

Over 20% of our turnover is R & D (Research and Development) based investment that allows us to continually adapt to new technologies in this demanding field and having full control of every aspect of the design, manufacture and qualification assures full confidentiality to the total system designer.

When cables are used in underwater towing applications, the cable will oscillate or strum. This vibration of the cable can cause severe increase in the drag coefficient of the cable. As the cable is round, a vortex is created at the opposite face of the cable, reducing efficiency and increasing drag. A 'hairy fairing' will decrease hydrodynamic drag by 40%-60%, the 'hairy fairing' can be incorporated in a short length of cable, or for the entire length of the cable.
